The Importance of Mental Health

We know that mental health is just as (if not more) important than physical health so we gathered some ideas and resources to help out through this stay-at-home-alone time. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This is a confusing and stressful time for all of us, so don’t hesitate to reach out to friends or family, a professional mental health expert, or us if you need anything. It is so important to be here for each other during this time and we are in this together, one day at a time.
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Stay physically distant, but virtually close. Use FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype, or any other video chat platform to connect with friends and family. Don’t want the video? Pick up the phone. Also look up “Netflix Party.”⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Download a mindfulness app like Calm or Headspace or search YouTube for guided meditations (we love Deepak Chopra).⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Yale University is offering The Science of Well-Being free online through Coursera. It teaches you how to be happier and it’s literally the school’s most popular class ever.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Stay on a consistent sleep schedule. Yes it’s hard to set an alarm when you don’t “need” to but consistency helps during uncertainty.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Looking for a solo activity that isn’t reading/watching the news (or avoiding working from home)? Marie Kondo your closet, read a book, do a puzzle, update your resume, stretch, draw/color, learn how to braid (hair length dependent; tutorial coming soon?), learn a foreign language, text your ex, set goals (include don’t text your ex), go through your phone camera roll (hello, 5 gb of space), sleep.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
- Our own Paul Fishman offers a number of resources through his self love coaching.⁣

Stay healthy ✨
